What does Don Streamo cost?
Nothing. The app is completely free — no subscriptions, no in-app purchases, no ads.
Are my videos uploaded?
No. Don Streamo plays your files locally from the device or directly from your source. There is no cloud cache and no third-party servers in between.
Which formats are supported?
Practically all of them: MP4/MOV play natively via AVPlayer, everything else (MKV, AVI, WMV, TS …) via libVLC. You no longer need to convert anything.
Do I need a NAS?
No. Local files work right away. NAS and servers (WebDAV, SMB, SFTP, FTP) come on top — added step by step.
Which devices does Don Streamo run on?
iPhone and Apple TV at launch. iPad, Mac and Apple Vision Pro follow via the same adaptive interface.
Where do posters, cast and descriptions come from?
Don Streamo recognizes titles from the file name and automatically pulls posters, cast, plot and ratings from an online movie database.
Which sources can I connect?
Local files as well as network and server sources via WebDAV, SMB, SFTP, FTP and HTTPS. Cloud storage is in the works.
Are subtitles and multiple audio tracks supported?
Yes. Embedded and external subtitles (e.g. SRT) plus multiple audio tracks can be switched freely — including sync fine-tuning.
Do 4K, HDR and high-resolution audio formats work?
Yes, hardware-accelerated for smooth playback. Which HDR and audio passthrough options are available depends on the respective Apple device and TV.
Does the app collect data about me?
No. Don Streamo does not track you and does not sell data. Your library stays on your devices and sources.
